New Year, New Goals: Nanuet HS Students Set 2022 Resolutions
The end of the year is a great time to reflect on everything you’ve done throughout the span of 365 days. As a new year approaches, it’s a great time to think about things that you want to start, change, or improve. Nanuet’s students have big goals for 2022 to better themselves as students, and overall, as people.
Focusing on your mental and physical health is so important in today’s age, and people take their good health for granted. Junior Amanda Drobes hopes to prioritize staying active and improving her well-being this year.
“I’m hoping to stay healthy this year, both physically and mentally,” says Drobes. “Drinking more water is a big resolution for me.”
It seems that every year people tend to make improving their physical and mental health a major goal. Junior J.R. Morgan said he also strives to do the same.
“In 2022, I definitely want to get more sleep,” Morgan added. “I want to start going to bed earlier and strive for a full 8 hours of sleep a night.”
School makes it an obstacle to get a good, healthy, amount of sleep, but it’s not impossible, according to Morgan.
A large number of students also aim to stay productive and maintain good grades for the remainder of the school year.
Sophomore Cadence Mullings said she is setting school-oriented goals.
“This year, I really want to focus on not procrastinating my homework,” she says. “I also plan to organize my school work, so I can keep track of upcoming deadlines, and where everything is.”
A common goal for students is to maintain good grades, create a study routine, or develop a good balance between their school and “outside” life. Only time will tell whether or not all of Nanuet’s students can stick to their goals in 2022.
