After ringing in the new year, the holiday season is officially over. After a season full of snow, holiday cheer and festivities with friends, it’s only natural to reminisce on the good times and the unforgettable memories made during the holiday break.
In this year especially, Nanuet had a remarkable two weeks off to celebrate the season and allow students to enjoy their free time. So, let’s take a step back and see how Nanuet spent their long break to the fullest.
Some students, like junior Angelina Lombardi, spent her break utilizing her free time to rest after a long week of school.
“I feel like I got a lot more sleep with the long break and ended up refreshed every day,” Lombardi said.
This extended break also allowed many to take time to celebrate special occasions with their friends and loved ones.
Celebrating both her birthday and Christmas during her time off, freshman Maja Struczyk talked about her experience.
“It was the first break I got to have my birthday party on my actual birthday,” she beamed.
Many are hoping that this trend of an elongated winter break will continue in the coming years.
Mya Estevez, a Sophomore, shared a unique viewpoint on the topic. She stated that while the break did go by fast for her, this length should remain for years to come.
“The break felt similar to previous years, [however], the break should be longer because we didn’t use any days off for snow,“ she said.
Despite the festivities of the holidays being over, Nanuet students hope for that same spirit of kindness, giving and compassion to be present all year round in 2025.
